The concept of journals in the institute
One day, for no apparent reason, Xavier was struck by inspiration. He wanted the students to be united, but how so? He thought about it for awhile, finally resorting to the internet as a means to find how. There he found a large online community of journals, which could be commented on and were highly customizable, and, as much as he hated to use the word, they were 'cool'. He gave each of the students a laptop, a journal name and password and told them to be civil. He then asked them to atleast update once a fortnight, and there would be punishments unless there was a good enough reason why it wasnt done.

There are a number of different types of posts in this community.

Are just that - entries. In first person perspective, and in character.

Now, in respect of entries, Xavier did realize it was a bit too...well...public that everyone could read everything everyone posted in their journals. So, he decided to make a system so that parts of the entry could be visible to only a certain person/certain people or just invisible from everyone or, again, certain people or a certain person. This can be done in the following format-

[Private to ___]

Whatever is private

[/Private]

Indeed, things can be private for your character. Just write

[Private]

Whatever is private

[/Private]

When characters are thinking to themselves, whatever is thought aloud should be striked out if it is unsuitable/purposely by accident put there. (ie. Logan might say something like this "So I caught a student drinking beer in the kitchen late last night. I told him to hurry up and finish it before he was caught that I'd shove it where the sun didnt shine if he didnt hand it over.") ofcourse, anything we can read, the characters can, too.

All of the above apply to comments, aswell.

Emails can be sent via the [info]breakthe_mail board. They are in the following format -

To: (insert name of the character/s this is to)
From: (insert name of the character/s this is from)
Subject: (insert subject, obviously)

(the body of the email.)

Obviously, the body can be placed under a cut, but that's the general gist of it.

The principal format seems to be story book, third person and past, though any format is acceptable, so long as the grammar isn't too bad. It is done in the [info]breakthe_mold community.

Anything played over AIM should be posted in the [info]breakthe_mold, marked as such and under a cut. Obviously, you should place the following above the cut.

Who: (who was involved)
Where: (where it took place)
When: (when it took place)
Rating: (this is a MUST)

And the rest should be under a cut. If you don't know how to make one, please ask somebody.

It has also become apparent that there is some confusion regarding the Brotherhood when it comes to these journals. Yes, Magneto did hook the journals of his own students up with the ones of Xaviers..
